The Finnish Prosecution service has 552 personnel, 358 of which are prosecutors. 

According to the Constitution of Finland, the Prosecutor General, who is the supreme prosecutor in Finland, heads the prosecution service.

The prosecutorial organization is a two-tiered structure. It consists of the Office of the Prosecutor General, which is the central authority of the prosecution service, and 15 local prosecution offices with 33 service bureaus.

According to law, the duty of the prosecutor is to see to the realization of
criminal liability in the processing of a criminal case in a manner required by the legal safety of the parties and the public interest. The prosecutor shall perform his or her duties impartially, expeditiously and economically.

The prosecution service observes the jointly defined values of fairness, competence and well-being at work in all areas of activity.
