The Administrative Unit shall see to matters pertaining to the
1) finances;
2) contents and co-ordination of the results management;
3) personnel, reassignments and appointments;
4) information;
5) IT affairs; and
6) archive of the prosecution service and Office of the Prosecutor General.
The Prosecution Unit shall see to
1) matters pertaining to the practical realization of criminal liability in the prosecution service and the contents of the results management of the service;
2) matters of evaluation as referred to in section 7(2) of the Act on Public Prosecutors;
3) complaints of appeal type directed at the decisions of prosecutors (matters of re-evaluation) and other complaints assigned to the Unit;
4) matters pertaining to the representation of prosecutors in court;
5) matters related to the co-operation between the prosecutors and the pre-trial investigation authorities;
6) matters pertaining to prosecution orders to local prosecutors and orders to serve as the head of a pre-trial investigation of offences with a police officer as the suspect; and
7) matters concerning disqualification of prosecutors.
The Steering and Development Unit shall see to the
1) development and management of the prosecutorial activity;
2) training of the prosecution service;
3) assignments of local prosecutors
4) monitoring and supervision of the prosecutorial activity and the contents of the results management of the prosecution service;
5) research in connection with the prosecutorial activity;
6) complaints against the conduct of the prosecutors; and
7) the Office library
The International Unit shall see to the
1) overall management of tasks of an international nature that are the responsibility of the prosecution service;
2) monitoring of matters related to international organized crime;
3) international co-operation in prosecutorial activity; and
4) matters pertaining to the scope of application of Finnish criminal law, matters regarding the contents of the results management of the prosecution service and complaints against
prosecutors.
